FAQ's / Contact Me!
These are some of the most common questions I am asked. Please see if an answer to yours appears here!
1. "What albums does the song (fill in the blank), appear on?" Please check my Song Search page; you can search alphabetically for any particular song to find a list of albums, 45s, etc it appears on. Probably does not include many of the more recently released albums (after Marty's death), but I am pretty confident that most of Marty's original releases are there.
2. "Where can I buy hard to find or out of print Marty Robbins albums?"
I am so sorry, I don't have a magic source for these. We are all unfortunately in the same boat on this question...your guess is as good as mine. All I can do is share with you where I have found such things:
Bear Family Records: This is a company out of Germany that has put together some fabulous CD box sets of long out of print items. There are many sites that sell their items, but please be careful when doing business over the internet!! www.ebay.com : I often see albums for sale, and sometimes you can get the Bear Family CD box sets at a reduced price! I have never had any problems buying something from
Ebay. One pointer, please check the seller's feedback. This will
give you some idea as to how they have transacted business with others in the
past.
My Local Used Record Stores: I have had
the best luck within 40 miles of my house. Two record shops that
specialize in original albums (and I mean VINYL) of the best quality, and I
have never been disappointed. They both do mailorder! If you have
a turntable, you might try these nice folks:
Salty's Record Attic
1326 9th St.
Modesto, CA
(209)527-4010
Brooks Novelty Antiques and Records
1107 Firehouse Alley
Old Sacramento, CA 95814
(916)443-0783
If you can't find it at one of these places, then I really don't know.
3. "I have a Marty item I'd like to sell. Do you know who might be interested, what its value is, or can you list it on your site?"
No, sorry, I am unable to help you. I cannot speak to the value of such things, as I am not an expert. I do not buy, sell, promote, or otherwise transact any business for others on this web site. In order to prevent fraudulent activity (What?! There is FRAUD on the internet?) on this site, I must refuse such requests. Any such posts to this site will be deleted.
4. "I love your music, can you please send me an autograph?" This is a fan page. I am not Marty, nor am I related to him in any way.
I do not know his family. I am not affiliated in any way with Columbia
Records. I'm very sorry to inform you that Marty passed away on December 8, 1982 at the age of 57.
5. "You're cute, want to go out?" (Awww, gee whiz, thanks.) Nope. Not interested. Too many weirdos out there, so please don't get weird on me. Email from weirdos is deleted and the senders are blocked.
