The Sound Files

Just a note: Many people have asked that I include complete song sound files. I have considered this, but in all fairness to Marty, I just can't do it. This is definitely a subject on which I would want Marty's permission, and since I cannot ask him, I don't want to do anything that he may not have approved of. Please understand.

For you cowboys out there, I decided to put a few of Marty's western ballads out here, I'm rather partial to those. Please excuse the background noise, most of these were recorded from vinyl!

Strawberry Roan (410,000 bytes, 37 seconds) I have to include at least one large sound bite! This is the verse of the song that started it all for me! My dad would tell me, "Here come's the horse part" when this came on the 8 track.

Old Red (162,000 bytes, 15 seconds) This is probably my all time favorite cowboy song Marty did, about an unridden horse and an unthrown rodeo rider.

Little Joe the Wrangler (243,000 bytes, 22 seconds) An all time classic cowboy tune.

My Love (173,000 bytes, 16 seconds) I love the harmony in this piece.

Ballad of the Alamo (357,000 bytes, 32 seconds) What an emotionally charged song!

Song of the Bandit (214,000 bytes, 19 seconds) Remember this one when the Sons of the Pioneers did it?

I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen (229,000 bytes, 21 seconds) Okay, I realize that this isn't a cowboy song, but I just had to include it. Marty never recorded this song onto an album, as far as I know, and I wanted to share this rare find.
